I’m used to crowded public transport in London and dealing with it is part and parcel of living in a big city. But I believe that London is at bursting point and that the transport system which we all know is outdated, can’t cope. When you consider how many people come to London to work, and how many come to visit – it’s no surprise at all. The strain on the infrastructure is massive, unsustainable and it might just take an awful tragedy to make the authorities realise it. I support the Olympics being held in London – but I seriously hope that organizers know what they’re doing and appreciate the scale of the upgrade required, just to cope.

London is packed to the rafters because everyone wants to visit, and people from around the world want to live and work there. Unfortunately, we can’t then expect to have an efficient (or safe) transport system unless a massive…and I mean really massive…amount of time and money is spent, and London’s population will have to endure significant inconvenience while it’s carried out.
